Seagrasses are one of the most productive ecosystems in the world. However, recent declines in seagrass beds have reduced fisheries stocks as well as negatively affected manatee populations. Ecosphere is addressing this situation by planting 100 acres of seagrass, to inoculate these areas and restart the seagrass populations, statewide. We will discuss this topic and update our progress with this major initiative to address declining seagrass populations in Florida.
