Living or Lifeless Shoreline… Which Would You Prefer?: For decades, the solution for an eroding shoreline was to harden it with a seawall or bulkhead structure; although these are effective for the short term, they come with a heavy cost:  the complete elimination of ecosystem services!  Today, shoreline resiliency can be achieved with alternative approaches that are effective and cheaper than installing a concrete vertical wall structure.
